Trad music and markets on the green: we can almost smell springtime with What’s On

All weekend: Get your music fix at Trad Fest 

Ireland’s largest festival of traditional music is back, and when we say there’s something for everyone, there absolutely is. From a star-studded line-up of headliners performing, to children’s trad sessions, genealogy workshops, food trails, music sessions, and to top it all off, a super Céilí tonight and Saturday night. Tickets vary on event, but can all be seen on the Tradfest website.

All weekend: Celebrate the Year of the Rat at the Chinese New Year celebrations

Marking the lunar new year, the Chinese New Year festival is always a great one every year, from the food to the culture to movies and shows too. There are workshops and open discussion on Chinese emigration, screenings of some great Chinese cinema and a lot of stuff for the kids, but a highlight is always the Asia Food Market Tours. Saturday and Sunday: Get educated at the Zero Waste Festival at the Science Gallery

Zero waste living sounds like a massive challenge to our day-to-day lives, but making small, but significant shifts to more sustainable practices can make a huge difference. Need some help figuring out where to start? This Zero Waste Festival in the Science Gallery will feature some of the country’s leaders in zero waste living giving tips and advice on living more sustainably. Learn how to replace and reduce what you’re using, and make some lasting changes.

On Sunday: Buy some wares at the Market on the Green

A new monthly market is always a joy for the city, and this one in the Well at Stephen’s Green is aiming to become Dublin’s biggest. Over 5o traders, and some great food and drink options (Dublin Pizza Company is a great shout) we can’t wait to see how much bigger and better it gets. From 12pm-5pm.
