Netflix announces debut date for Space Force, starring Steve Carell and Lisa Kudrow

The new comedy series follows General Mark R Naird (Carell) as he navigates his new job as leader of the Space Force division

It’s been a while since Steve Carell has blessed us with his TV series presence, so when Netflix announced he was starring in a new show, we were hooked.

The iconic comedian has teamed up with The Office (US) co-creator Greg Daniels to bring what is sure to be our new Netflix addiction: Space Force.

The series is a comedy about Mark R. Naird (Steve Carell), a four-star general and pilot, who finds himself put in charge of leading the new Space Force division.

“On June 18, 2018, the federal government announced the creation of a 6th major division of the United States Armed Forces,” the trailer explains.

“The goal of the new branch [AKA “Space Force”] is to ‘defend satellites from attack’ and ‘perform other space-related tasks’ or something.

“This is the story of the men and women who have to figure it out.”

And there is quite an exciting cast as well: Lisa Kudrow (who plays Maggie, Mark’s wife), John Malkovich, Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, Ben Schwartz, Jimmy O. Yang, Noah Emmerich, Alex Sparrow and Don Lake.

The series is set to make its Netflix debut on May 29 and we can’t wait to see if it lives up to the hype.
