6 new Netflix picks to look forward to this month

March means an onslaught of new Netflix offerings. Here are six picks we’re particularly looking forward to 


Restaurants on the Edge 

A team of experts turn failing waterfront restaurants into destinations connected to their community, and worthy of their jaw-dropping locations. Each hour-long episode invites viewers into a new restaurant located in a stunning location — on the edge of an ocean, a mountain, or desert. But despite their outstanding views, these eateries are struggling to create an experience that lives up to their incredible surroundings.

Streaming March 1

Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker

This limited series is inspired by the incredible true story of Madam C.J. Walker, who was the first African American female self-made millionaire. Inspired by the book, On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C. J. Walker, written by Walker’s great-great-granddaughter A’Lelia Bundles, the limited series stars Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer.

Lost Girls

Inspired by the best-selling non-fiction book of the same name, Lost Girls tells the story of Mari (Academy Award nominee Amy Ryan) who’s on the hunt to find her missing 24-year-old daughter, Shannan. Determined to find her daughter at all costs, Mari Gilbert retraces Shannan’s last known steps, driving her own investigation to an insular gated community near the desolate outer banks of Long Island. Based on true events, Gabriel Byrne also stars.

A personal, tender and hilarious story about two young people navigating the modern-day landscape of love, addiction and sexuality. Starring comedian Mae Martin as herself – a rising talent on the stand-up circuit, and a recovering addict trying to find her way in life.

Jason Bateman’s dark turn as financial-planner-turned-drugs-lord Marty Byrde returns for a highly anticipated third season. It’s six months on from where we left off, the casino is up and running, but Marty and Wendy are fighting for control of the family’s destiny.
