Cosy clothes I can’t wait to wear when winter hits

Cosy clothes I can’t wait to wear when winter hits

Schools are back and there’s a hint of the shorter evenings and cooler temperatures to come. Although we’re not in swaddling season yet, I’m stocking up on cosy clothes, such as snuggly sweaters, blanket-like capes and cuddle-me coats now, which I can’t wait to wear once winter hits (which it will like a bullet no doubt.) Here’s my wish list of comfort-fuelled items for autumn/winter.

I’ve never thought that sloppy can’t be chic, and it’s fair to say I’m a big fan of oversized sweaters like this one from online store Arket (one of my favourite stores for knits). This Alpaca-blend tunic sweater will add texture to an outfit, imbuing your look with depth and character.

This is one of the most sophisticated parkas I’ve seen this season, or any other. You can always rely on online retailer uterque.com to offer something with a strong point of difference. This subtle shade of gold will work beautifully with this season’s shades of brown.

Forget shoes, you can never have too many cardigans in your wardrobe. They’re so versatile and they look chic without appearing fussy or try-hard. I love to bring earthy autumn hues into my wardrobe, so this shade of mustard will work beautifully, boosting neutrals and blending perfectly with shades of burgundy and brown.

Massimo Dutti’s Limited Edition collection offers investment pieces at a premium, but not ridiculous, price. This beautifully textured check coat is a sophisticated classic that will never date. With pockets and statement collar (which I’d wear upright around a thick-knit scarf), it will be a pleasure to put this on in winter.

It’s fair to say I like most clothes oversized in winter. I love that feeling of almost being overwhelmed by warm woollens and cosy textures. The size and shades of this Warehouse scarf are perfect. An XL scarf has so much versatility which means it can add freshness to an outfit in lots of different ways.
