Hydrating masks to wear while WFH that make an instant difference

Hydrating masks to wear while WFH that make an instant difference

Hydrating heroes worth splashing out for.

Post-Zoom meetings, this is a great time to treat your skin with a hydrating mask for dry, tight, irritated skin, or those who just want a perma-dewy glow. These are some of our favourites.

Kiehl’s Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask, €40

What was once a humble snack and has since seen its purpose transcended from a signifier of a lack of millennial homeownership to a tool used for wedding proposals (really), the avocado has arrived, finally, in my favourite form – the face mask. This creamy hydrating mask from Kiehl’s, €40, is nourishing, refreshing, rich with vitamins and will set you back less than a flat white and avo-toast brunch.

Fresh Beauty Rose Face Mask, €26

Cult brand Fresh has come to Ireland via Space NK on Grafton Street and in Belfast. “What is special about Fresh,” Caglar Odabasi, Sales and Education Manager at Fresh told us, “ is that sensorial journey the products are going to offer you, and the effective result-driven usage.” That’s the perfect explanation for the cult hero hydrating mask Fresh Beauty Rose Face Mask – the gel texture feels delicious on the skin and smells like wet roses, and skin is left soothed, calmed, hydrated and quenched.

Trilogy Rosehip Hydrating Jelly Mask, €18.95

Trilogy’s beloved rosehip oil has been reimagined in jelly form. Keep this jelly textured face mask in the fridge for a cooling, hydrating dose of moisture-boosting ingredients of rosehip oil, hyaluronic acid and manuka honey. Perfect for tired dull skin, your face will feel revitalised, hydrated and soothed.

L’Occitane Aqua Réotier Mineral Moisture Mask, €35

L’Occitane Aqua Réotier Mineral Moisture Mask, €35, is a satisfying cooling gel mask that minimises pores and quenches the skin formulated with calcium-packed water – calcium helps generate new skin cells and shed old ones – from the Réotier spring in Provence.

Vichy LiftActiv Hyalu Mask, €45

If your skin is dull or tired, this water-gel mask contains a record 1% concentration of hyaluronic acid in a jar and is formulated with agave yeast extract, for protection of your natural hyaluronic acid. With a double dose of low weight and high weight natural hyaluronic acid, it hydrates and replumps the skin, leaving it smooth and plump, with a more even and radiant skin tone.

Avène Hydrance Aqua Gel, €30

If you love hyaluronic acid, you need to know about it’s better counterpart, Cohederm, created with seven years of extensive research from Stanford University and skincare brand Avène. It restores your skin’s optimum hydration levels, reduces water loss and allows for on-demand release of hydration. Cohederm can be found in Avène Hydrance Aqua Gel, €30, which has a water gel texture and can be worn in a light layer during the day or, even better, in a thicker layer as a mask. It doesn’t just mega hydrate your skin though – it contains an antioxidant to protect the skin from free radicals, plus it detoxifies and decongests.
